Practice in the minors
Practicing in the minors can be quite trying. Even though I am a member of the most successful minor league team in the state of Texas. Practice locations can really test you. We practice at a pee wee field without lighting. We have to turn the baseball field lights out and our receivers and qb's have to throw in a choppy softball outfield. I am fortunate enough to have goalpost to utilize. They are colored black so in the lowlit field area it definetly makes things difficult.
I would say the worst thing about the facility is the uneven grass. I have caught myself many times kicking clumps of weeds before contact. I say all of this to say. That whether I like it or not it builds character. I feel I can successfully kick on any surface good or bad. Recently I had the opportunity to tryout at Texas Stadium. I consider that facility near perfect for a kicker. I missed only one kick out of 30 attempts.
Today we will practice at a field at an elementary school. Which is much better for the team. It is horrible for a kicker. If you have any type of leg you will either kick it down a deep hill or kick it in a backyard guarded by pitbulls.
I could only hope for the day where we just have a normal lit practice field. More importantly for my teammates than myself.

| I sent you a demo tape for evaluation and its been a huge help to myself and my kicker. He is now kicking into the endzone 30% of the time and making 40 yard field
goals 50% of the time. Please continue the priceless education to all of us out
here. THANKS! | | | -- Kicking.com member and HS coach | |
